What’s it like to work in the Marketing Department of a Hotel or Restaurant ?
What are the Working hours and the Daily routine like for a Sales&Marketing Person in the department ?
Hi I can highly recommend Marketing for a Hotel (assuming it’s a big one!!). No doubt your probably aware that most marketing and advertising budgets are based on minimum of 5% of last years company profits, so whilst there is a ‘recession’ the world over many advertising and marketing budgets have been hit very hard, therefore the stability of these sorts of roles come into question. Restaurants however are a different bag all together. Restaurants come and go as do their popularity, your only as good as your last meal. I ran a restaurant in Sydney for some time, and as my background is Media (specialising in TV) I was able to give the Restaurant some great out of the box strategy ideas that worked a treat. I have since retired from all Media & Marketing…just found after 23 years….it really wasn’t my cup of tea after all. Too many crooks, people without morals, and way too much air kissing for me!!
