(MARKETING) cosmetic event ideas???? plzz?

I need an idea about what to do for an event, we are doing a ‘matt-skin look” makeup event featuring classic looks.

HOW CAN WE BRING CLIENTS IN TO OUR STORE BESIDES JUST MARKETING.. IT NEEDS TO BE LOW COST.

ALL IDEAS ARE HELPFUL

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!! THANKS

I’m assuming you are somewhere in the USA.

1. Have you gone to the local chamber of commerce to see if they have any “after hours” or events you can host, lead trading groups, or ambassador clubs?

2. Is there a local murchant association, business improvement district (BID), or something like that? They would also have meetings of sorts and low budget co-op advertising.

3. Do you belong to any professional association? If you are in cosmetics there must be a local chapter of “Women in Business” or the Women’s Bar Association. See if they have meetings and attend one to see if there is an opportunity to hose or sponsor something. Be a guest speaker and do a “dress for success” type presentation with the latest information. Absolutely do not sell from the podium. Don’t sell during a meeting either. Just meet them and enjoy. Be sure to exchange business cards and start developing your in-house data base.

Once you join a professional organization you will have access to the membership directory. Do a direct mailing with post cards and offer member-discounts. Or have a member-only party at your shop on a night that is normally pritty slow. Invite the attendees to sign up to receive your newsletters and special invitations. A guest book that asks for all the right information will work. Name, Address, (with City, State, and ZIP), Phone number and EMAIL ADDRESS! Then send them information on a routine basis.

4. Low costs: Are you located in a strip-mall or in an area where ther are other merchants, restaurants, or stores? Can you approach the owners and do some co-op advertising? Even something as simple as trading counter space? You put a small display on his counter and he puts one on yours.

I knew a liquor store next to a fast food buritto store that gave a $1 off (a $20 purchase) with a receipt of $10 or more from the store next door. It increased sales for both stores.

5. More importantly: Do you allow people to come into your store and leave without leaving their name, address, phone number and email address? If so, don’t. Invite them to sign up to receive your newsletters, your special announcements, and your private invitation showings.

Put a fish bowl on the front counter with forms to fill out. Invite them to fill the form out and put it in the bowl for a weekly drawing. (Pick anything to draw for!)

6. Mail post cards or email to the folks who have signed up. Do by-invitation-only events at night (a night that is usually slow) and send the invitations to the folks who signed up to receive them.

… I could go on and on.
